Assessment of Evertor Strength Following Inferior Extensor Retinaculum Flap Ligamentoplasty in Patients With Chronic Lateral Ankle Instability

چکیده

The primary aim of our study was to evaluate the strength ankle evertor muscles in patients who have undergone a lateral ligamentoplasty (which combined tensioning ligament group and reinforcing it with pediculated extensor retinaculum flap), using 2 measurement systems (isokinetic functional weightbearing test [MyoLux). Our hypothesis on treated side comparable that contralateral healthy side. This prospective included 23 had chronic instability underwent an inferior flap ligamentoplasty. Clinical results were assessed American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society Karlsson scores. muscle analyzed, both ankles, isokinetic testing (gold standard) – open kinetic chain closed (MyoLux). Data interpreted Stata 14.0 software. score 88.1 ± 4.5, 89.6 4.0. Isokinetic tests did not show any significant difference between ankles one. Functional measuring inversion control at demonstrate differences ankles. As confirmed by good scores lack strength, this reports is satisfactory treatment instability. In addition, MyoLux reliable effective properly assess proprioception ankle.

Isokinetic testing of evertor and invertor muscles in patients with chronic ankle instability.

Ankle sprains are among the most common sport-related injuries and can lead to chronic ankle instability. Impaired sensorimotor function of the ankle musculature is often suggested as a cause. The current study sought to assess and compare the isokinetic performance and electromyographic patterns of evertor and invertor muscles in patients with chronic ankle instability and in a control group. ...

Case Report: Spontaneous Rupture of the Ankle Extensor Retinaculum

Spontaneous rupture of the extensor retinaculum of the ankle is a rare condition, only reported a few times in the literature. We present a case report of a spontaneous rupture of the ankle extensor retinaculum, which was reconstructed with a fascia lata autograft, along with a discussion of the literature.

Assessment of chronic ankle instability

Chronic ankle instability is a complex problem which often follows ankle sprain. This workshop will discuss the latest models of chronic ankle instability and give an overview of the latest research in the area. Assessment tools available in the clinic as well as the laboratory setting will be demonstrated in the workshop with the opportunity for participants to practice. Assessments covered wi...

Arthroscopic repair of chronic lateral ankle instability.

BACKGROUND The current "gold standard'' for treatment of chronic lateral ankle instability is the Broström-Gould procedure. Most authors recommend this type of operation even after an arthroscopic inspection of the joint. We review our results with an arthroscopic method of lateral ankle ligament repair. MATERIALS AND METHODS A method of arthroscopic lateral ligament repair with an anchor pla...

Functional instability following lateral ankle sprain.

Lateral ankle sprain (LAS) is an extremely common athletic injury. Despite extensive clinical and basic science research, the recurrence rate remains high. Functional instability (FI) following LAS is hypothesised to predispose individuals to reinjury because of neuromuscular deficits which result following injury. This paper provides an overview of the potential causes of FI which may manifest...
